U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will announced on Jan 22, 2020 that nationals of Iran and their dependents are no longer eligible to change to or extend their stay in E-1 or E-2 nonimmigrant status. The attorneys at VisaWolf are helping clients obtain new passports through the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programs of Grenada and Turkey. The passports of both countries are accepted by the USCIS as qualifying for E-2 status and visa.

For example, a person who held an E-2 visa based on the Iranian passport can quickly obtain a new Turkish or Grenada passport. Next, the investor obtains the new E-2 visa and then resumes the E-2 business activities in the USA.

The process takes about 2+ months and the minimum investment for passport is about USD 250,000, plus service fees which vary per family size.

Both countries provide favorable tax treatment to offshore income and visa free travel to more than 100 countries. Neither country has any language test or residency requirement.

In today’s uncertain world, many people can benefit from holding a second passport from Grenada or Turkey. If you are interested, please contact us.
