Jo Layton

Communications Director

Jo Layton is a dynamic communications professional with over 15 years of experience in marketing, content creation, and public relations. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in Public Relations, Jo has worked with a range of organizations including BYU-TV, Martian Studios, Living Scriptures, 8 Little Crickets Productions, Schaffer Studios, ACH Fulfillment, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is the co-founder of Operation Literacy, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing reading and writing skills, where she served as PR Director and later as Communications Director for over a decade. Jo is also the co-creator of two acclaimed writing conventions—Teen Author Boot Camp and StoryCon—which have empowered thousands of young and aspiring writers.

An accomplished author and screenwriter, Jo has written for both television and film. In addition to her creative pursuits, she is a black belt in Taekwondo and teaches self-defense, blending discipline with empowerment. A passionate public speaker, educator, and literacy advocate, Jo brings energy, purpose, and a deep commitment to storytelling and personal growth to every endeavor.
